| Robert Carter, MD |
Kate Sullivan, Certified Nurse Practitioner |
Dr. Carter has been caring for El Dorado County patients since 1981, and Nurse Practitioner Sullivan has supported his practice since 1984. Together, the pair now complements a dedicated and supportive team of board certified OB/GYN physicians at Marshall.
Dr. Carter received his degree in biochemical pharmacology from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1973 and his medical degree from the same university four years later. He then completed his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Kaiser in Sacramento, before opening his practice in El Dorado County.
Nurse Practitioner Kate Sullivan earned her nursing degree from CSU Sacramento in 1976 and her nurse practitioner certificate in OB/GYN from CSU San Jose in 1983. Before joining Dr. Carter’s practice, Ms. Sullivan was an OB/GYN nurse practitioner for Valley Center for Women’s Health, where in addition to customary duties, she also was extensively involved in all aspects of infertility treatment.
Together, Dr. Carter & Nurse Practitioner Sullivan shared these thoughts on their transition to Marshall:
“We are excited to merge our practice with Marshall OB/GYN. We will continue to provide the same quality of healthcare in this new setting that we hope we have provided our patients for the past 27 years.
A larger practice can offer more perspective and different approaches to healthcare. We think this change will be a good one.”
