From the many inspiring stories shared via the nominations, Bob’s nomination rose to the top, and a panel of judges from the community selected him for the honor.
The award recognizes Bob’s commitment and energy to serve others in a number of ways, both professionally and personally. From making unexpected visits to patients in need, to going above and beyond to support employees, Bob has a long history of giving generously of himself and his time.
In his professional role, his determination to improve systems and procedures has resulted in better clinical patient care, such as the development of a multidisciplinary team devoted to perfecting patient medication administration.
On top of his work for Marshall, Bob’s nomination also touted his community service, noting his use of personal vacation time to serve tirelessly at an orphanage in Mexico.
Bob received his award at a lunchtime ceremony at Marshall Hospital, where Marshall’s Administrator, James Whipple and Assistant Administrator, Shannon Truesdell, RN, honored the nominees along with the 2007 Hero in Healthcare, Bob DiPonti.
