Marshall Medical Center and Blue Cross of California (Blue Cross) announced they have reached an agreement on multi-year terms for hospital services. The new agreement is retroactive to November 7, 2005. Blue Cross members may continue to access Marshall Medical Center as a participating provider for their inpatient and outpatient services. In addition, patients can access physician services offered through Marshall Center for Primary and Specialty Care. Terms of the final confidential agreement will not be disclosed.
“Our mission is to provide affordable, high-quality healthcare services to our community,” said James Whipple, Marshall administrator and CEO. “Many people here in El Dorado County use Blue Cross to pay for these healthcare services, so we needed to agree on a new contract. We are pleased that Blue Cross was able to work with us to create a contract that allows us, the local provider, to continue to serve our Blue Cross patients.”
No action is required by Blue Cross members to continue services at Marshall Medical Center; Blue Cross patients who have additional questions should contact their Blue Cross member service representative at the number on their ID card.
