Marshall Partners with New Blood Center in El Dorado County
Marshall Medical and
Delta Blood Bank have entered into an agreement that makes Delta the new
provider for blood products and blood services for Marshall.
As Marshall Medical's primary blood provider, Delta Blood Bank will
be maintaining an inventory of blood products at Marshall, providing
laboratory reference services, acquiring rare blood types for special
cases, and offering special collections for patients with their own
surgeries.
An
important part of Delta’s services to El Dorado County is the creation
of a new community collection center called the Marshall Community Blood
Center. It will be located in
Placerville. Delta, like
Marshall, is focused on their patients and believes in putting the needs
of the patients and the families they serve above all else.
“Marshall
is thrilled to be working with a blood bank that provides such a high
level of service and a commitment to the communities they serve,” said
Marshall Medical Administrator James Whipple.
Delta
Blood Bank has been serving the San Joaquin Valley and many foothill
communities for nearly 50 years with a priority on providing a high
quality blood products to the hospitals they serve while maintaining a
local community focus.
Delta
Blood Bank is a nonprofit organization that operates on behalf of patients
and their families. The Delta
Board of Directors is comprised of a diverse leadership including medical
professionals and civic leaders and is committed to providing a safe and
ample blood supply.
“We
are excited about the opportunity to serve Placerville and enhance the
community blood resource,” said Delta Medical Director Benjamin Spindler,
