Marshall Medical will soon be providing outpatient laboratory and electrocardiogram services at one location in Placerville; it’s new, large lab facility at 681 Main Street (formerly known as the Midtown Mall). Marshall had been previously providing this service at two smaller locations at the Midtown Mall and the Marshall Diagnostic Center on Cedar Ravine. The Cedar Ravine facility will stop providing lab service as of December 2, 2002, but will continue to provide x-ray/radiology services. Marshall started providing outpatient lab and radiology services at the Cedar Ravine location in 1989. Patient volume in the late-1990’s created a need for expansion. In 1999, Marshall opened a second outpatient lab at the Midtown Mall. Recent remodeling of the Midtown Mall, now known simply as its address – 681 Main St. – allowed Marshall to expand and improve its lab services there. This includes a large waiting lobby with a children’s play area; a large, circular, easy-access registration desk and an expansive parking lot. Starting December 2, the Main St. lab will also have the expanded hours of 6:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This change will allow the Cedar Ravine facility to have more capacity to do just x-ray/radiology procedures.
