El Dorado Pediatrics Joins Marshall Center for Primary Care
The El Dorado Pediatric Medical Group recently joined the Marshall Medical family by becoming the newest office of the Marshall Center for Primary Care. The staff, location, and phone number for the four pediatric physicians will remain the same, but Marshall Medical will now be responsible for the business administration and management of the group. The new name for the group is the Marshall Center for Primary Care – Pediatrics. Pediatric physicians are concerned with the development, care and diseases of babies and children.
This change was, in part, an effort to stabilize pediatric care in the county after several pediatric physicians suddenly left the area.
“Marshall is very happy to partner with Dr. Washburn, Dr. Hacker, Dr. Eldred and Dr. Peterson in addressing this immediate community need for pediatricians,” said Rick Vance, Marshall Center for Primary Care Director (MCPC). “We are fortunate to work with such long-standing, respected community physicians and look forward to continuing to provide great medical care to our area's children. We are currently working with the group to recruit additional pediatricians to our area as soon as possible.”
Dr. Washburn had become concerned about the future of pediatrics in the area before talking to Vance and the MCPC.
“This year, the Placerville area faced an urgent situation with the sudden loss of some of our pediatric services,” said Dr. Washburn. “Marshall Medical has stepped up to stabilize the situation and ensure that we will have local pediatricians available for years to come. Working with the Marshall Center for Primary Care has been a very positive experience for the doctors and our staff of El Dorado Pediatrics. Our patients will be reassured to know that all the familiar faces will still be here to serve them in 2003.”
