A New Name and New Look for Marshall Hospital |

Marshall Hospital has adopted a new look to reflect the healthcare organization's continuing commitment to patients and communities on the Western Slope of El Dorado County, Effective June 3, 2002, Marshall Hospital adopted the "umbrella" name Marshall Medical to represent the organization's diverse services provided to the community. A new logo has been developed to support the name and Marshall's commitment to providing superb healthcare. "Through extensive community research and discussions, we determined that many people in the communities we serve don't fully understand our true abilities and role in the community," explained PJ LoDuca, Marshall's chief marketing officer. "Marshall is more than a hospital. We've expanded primary care centers, outpatient services, community health programs and other medical services." Under the Marshall Medical umbrella identity, all the centers, services and programs will be appropriately recognized. The Marshall Medical umbrella will include Marshall Hospital, Marshall Center for Primary Care, Marshall Foundation, Marshall Diagnostics & Imaging, Marshall Community Health Library, Marshall Professional Center -- Cameron Park and others. According to LoDuca, the organization initiated a comprehensive strategic planning effort over the last few months to determine how to remain responsive to the needs of Placerville, Cameron Park, El Dorado Hills and other communities in the region. "We are very much a part of the community and continually want to improve," said Frank Nachtman, Marshall Medical administrator. "This is an exciting step forward. We are always improving our services and care for patients, and we want the community to know about our commitment to them." One of Marshall's founding principles is a focus on the patient. Marshall's vision statement says, "Patients come first." All other values are overshadowed by the proper care of those who entrust their lives to us. It is our duty and privilege to care for our patients, and we care for them with dignity, respect and compassion." To reflect this principle, Marshall Medical has adopted the slogan; "It's about you." "We wanted to put our vision into words, clearly and effectively," added Nachtman. "At Marshall Medical, we understand our role in the community. We realize that our greatest strength is our desire and mandate to treat patients as individuals, not as a numbers or medical charts." While the state of healthcare is volatile and changing, all the management and staff at Marshall are focused on providing the best health care possible for each of our patients. "We are proud of our long history of service and care," Nachtman said. "We remain independent so we can always make decisions that put the needs of the community first and foremost. Our new name and logo are our most recent steps in this ongoing process." Marshall Medical is a progressive organization in a growing community.
