Marshall Medical Presents Scholarships
Marshall Medical proudly presented $500 scholarships
to each local high school on the Western Slope of El Dorado County once again
this spring. Marshall annually presents these scholarships to students who plan
on pursuing a career in healthcare and have been active in their school and
community. Marshall hopes that the scholarships will help these students go on
to become healing, healthcare professionals.
Ponderosa High School had two recipients this year,
with Melissa Anderson and Patricia Dahl each receiving $250. They are both
Cameron Park residents. Melissa hopes to go on to become a surgeon and will be
attending college in the Bay Area. Patricia is hoping for medical school after
attending the University of California San Diego.
Golden Sierra High School also had two scholarship awardees, Christina Aplanalp of Greenwood and Halley Christensen of Cool each
receiving $250. Christina hopes to pursue a career in dental hygiene and will
begin her studies at Sierra College. Halley wants to be a physical therapist
and will travel across the country for college at Southern Virginia University.
The El Dorado High School
scholarship was awarded to Janelle Edwards of Cameron Park who is interested in
the dental field. She will be attending Folsom Lake Community College.
Bethany Nalley of El Dorado
Hills received the scholarship at Oak Ridge High School. She would like to
become a doctor and will be attending college in North Carolina or Virginia.
The award at Union Mine High School went to Annie Le,
who lives in Placerville. Annie has her sights set on becoming a pathologist or
surgeon and will be going to school at the University of Rochester in New York.
Linda Telegan in Marshall’s personnel department
organized the scholarship process and Marshall employees Gary Martin, Cindy
Garrett, Ellen Richards, Angel Sawyer and Don Davis presented the scholarships
at the awards ceremonies of the respective schools.
