When You Arrive
- Go to the admissions desk located in the
main lobby.
- An admissions representative will have
you fill out registrations forms for your stay at the hospital.
- You will be escorted to your
destination.
Your Room
Rooms are assigned based on your
physician's orders, the kind of medical care you need and room availability.
Your room is equipped for comfort and
safety. Your nurse can show you how to use the following equipment:
- Adjustable bed
- Bathroom emergency bell
- Call button
- Telephone
- Television
Please discuss with your caregivers whether
or not you should get out of bed without assistance. If you need to
speak to a nurse, press the call button.
Daily Routine
Mornings are a very busy time at our
hospital. This is when special procedures are often scheduled, when
many doctors make their patients rounds, when the nursing staff in
involved with a lot of bedside care, and when the housekeeping staff come
through to tidy up the rooms. We request that most visitors come in
the afternoon so interruptions to your visit will be minimal and your
medical treatment will proceed on schedule as much as possible.
A case manager (a registered nurse) who
works with your physician many visit your shortly after admission.
The case manager may help coordinate your care while in the hospital and
after your go home.
