MARSHALL MEDICAL CENTER NAMES HEROES IN HEALTHCARE

Heroes come in all shapes, sizes and job titles. Excellent care can come from a housekeeper, lab tech, nurse, doctor, engineer, admissions clerk, volunteers or others. Through Marshall Medical Center’s Heroes in Healthcare program, patients, visitors and co-workers have an opportunity acknowledge those who have shown outstanding commitment to the well-being of others. A panel of community leaders reviews nominations against guidelines including extraordinary service, dedication, sensitivity, communication and heroic sacrifice to choose one Hero for the year. There were 16 nominees for this award.

Marshall is pleased to announce our 2018 Hero in Healthcare winner, Loni Jay, MD, a family medicine physicianwith Marshall Sierra Primary Medicine in Placerville. Dr. Jay was nominated by a patient grateful for a life-saving diagnosis and persistent follow up care. “She is very supportive, caring and concerned. She makes me feel like I am more than a patient. I am truly thankful for her,” concluded the patient in her nomination statement.
