Lena Avedissian, MD

About Lena Avedissian

Lena Avedissian, MD, is a multiple board-certified cardiologist caring for patients with Marshall Medical Cardiology. She sees patients in Placerville and Cameron Park and has a special interest in women’s heart health.

Dr. Avedissian earned her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Rutgers University and medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and then went on to complete her fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the same acclaimed medical institution.

Prior to joining Marshall, Dr. Avedissian served as a staff internist physician at Vicenza Health Clinic in Vicenza, Italy. She then returned to the United States to specialize in cardiovascular medicine and cared for patients in that capacity at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Wash., where she was the Chief of the Heart Failure Clinic and Echocardiography Lab. In her last position before joining Marshall, Dr. Avedissian was in private practice in Washington state.

Dr. Avedissian is Board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular CT, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology.

In her leisure time, Dr. Avedissian enjoys spending time outdoors with her family. She is married with three sons, a set of twins included. The family enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, swimming and running.
