With a new practitioner arrives a new specialty. Marshall Medical Center’s
latest move to expand its behavioral health capabilities is the hiring
of Jeremy Ernst, DO, Marshall’s first full-time psychiatrist.
A board-eligible practitioner, Dr. Ernst completed both his psychiatry
fellowship (2017) and residency (2015) at the University of Nevada’s
School of Medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Sacramento
State in 2004 and a medical degree (2012) from Touro University in Vallejo.
Dr. Ernst is eager to help a population in need. “There are a lot
of people suffering in silence. Behavioral health treatment doesn’t
just treat symptoms. It can help a patient’s entire quality of life,” he said.
Affiliations include the American Psychiatry Association, the American
Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the Filipino Federation
Dr. Ernst grew up in the rural town of Herald and graduated from nearby
Galt High School. Hobbies include reading, cooking and outdoor activities.
He said his daughter’s birth taught him the importance of finding
a balance between work and family.
