Janis Smith, FNP, is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner caring
for patients of all ages. She owns experience as both an emergency room
RN (at Marshall Hospital) and a skilled nursing facility nurse’s
She received her initial nursing degree from San Joaquin Delta College,
before earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Nursing from Cal
State Dominguez Hills. She joined the Divide Wellness Center after over
a decade providing comprehensive family medicine care at various clinics
Professional affiliations include the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Janis is a member of the Drug Free Divide, a Georgetown-based group dedicated
to keeping youth away from drugs and alcohol.
Janis has a longtime interest in health and wellness. As a child, she
completed Junior Lifeguard training. She's worked at both a greenhouse
nursery and a chicken ranch.
In her spare time, the former Girl Scout is most likely to be found outdoors.
She enjoys archery, kayaking and canoeing, as well as gardening. She’s
a road warrior who appreciates family trips in the RV to the Sierras and
the coast. She owns nine animals: three dogs (all rescued from shelters),
three cats and three chickens.
