Katharina Truelove, MD, is a board certified family medicine physician
who joined Marshall in 2005. Dr. Truelove received her medical degree
in 2000 from Tulane University in New Orleans and chose family medicine
because of its diversity.
Dr. Truelove grew up in Hawaii and still travels there frequently to visit
her parents. Because of her own medical problems, she met many physicians
in early childhood and knew she wanted to be a doctor by age 5. Dr. Truelove
feels her own health issues helped her become a more empathetic physician.
She believes she was blessed with her abilities and love of science in
order to carry on the sacred doctor-patient relationship. “We are
on earth to learn how to love,” she said. She appreciates educating
her patients and formulating a treatment plan together.
She has previously served as Medical Director of her clinic and Chair of
the Pediatrics and Perinatology Committee. She is proud to have been instrumental
in Marshall earning designation as a "Baby Friendly Hospital"
by UNICEF and the World Health Organization in 2015.
Dr. Truelove resides in El Dorado Hills with her husband and two daughters.
In her spare time, she enjoys photography and other artistic endeavors.
