About Paula Akin

Paula Akin, DO, is a board-certified physician specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. She earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Mount Saint Mary’s University Los Angeles’ Chalon Campus, followed by a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Loyola Marymount University. She then went on to earn her medical degree from the Kansas University of Medicine and Biosciences before completing her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Kaiser Permanente. 

As a practicing nurse and physician, Dr. Akin has gained extensive experience in planning and managing patient care, including preventative care, endometriosis, pelvic infections, contraception, menopause, and various other general and high-risk OB/GYN conditions. She’s also trained in neonatal intensive care, minimally invasive robotic OB/GYN surgeries, midwifery services, and providing training and education for mobile intensive care nurses, paramedics, and OB/GYN providers.  With a passion for patient advocacy, she collaborates in team-based approaches to improve patient health and wellbeing.
