About Jennifer Commins

Jennifer Commins, NP joined Marshall Family Medicine in 2025. Her clinical interests include family-centered primary care, women’s health, pediatrics (newborn to adolescents), and lactation support. Her goal is to treat every patient with the respect and dignity she hopes her own family members would receive. Jennifer believes in practicing family medicine with a holistic approach that recognizes the family as an extension of the patient. She is interested in preventive medicine and strives to work with patients to help establish their health goals by providing patient education and encouraging shared decision-making.

Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University at Sacramento and her Master of Science in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University. She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner as well as a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist. She came to Marshall with more than ten years of experience as a labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn nursery nurse at the University of California at Davis hospital.

Jennifer is particularly drawn to the comprehensive scope of family medicine and the opportunity it provides to build lasting relationships with patients throughout their lifespan. She values creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where patients and their families feel heard and supported. Jennifer is passionate about delivering holistic, evidence-based primary care to patients of all ages, with a special interest in supporting families through the childbearing years. She is committed to improving the health of the community through preventive medicine and providing accessible, patient-centered care.

Jennifer is passionate about family medicine because of her dedication to her own family. Her husband, children, and grandchildren are her favorite people. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading, spending time with family, and going to Disneyland whenever possible.
