About Alexis Long

Alexis Long, MD, serves as medical director of Marshall Wound Care. Board certified in emergency medicine, Dr. Long appreciates the ever-changing nature of her field.

“Both wound care and emergency medicine are constantly evolving in practice and procedures,” said Dr. Long, who also treats patients at Marshall Hospital’s Emergency Department.

Dr. Long grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Golden Sierra High School.
At Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, she completed undergraduate studies in biochemistry. She later completed her fellowship (in health policy) from the California American College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Long is working toward her Fellowship in Hyperbaric Medicine.

She enjoys gaining knowledge while earning the honor to help heal patients. Among other procedures, Dr. Long specializes in applying an amniotic allograft – a thin layer of dehydrated human amniotic membrane – to heal a patient’s severe wound.

In her spare time, Dr. Long enjoys the outdoors.
