Marshall Announces CEO Leadership Transition; Martin Entwistle Named Interim Chief Executive Officer

PLACERVILLE, Calif. (July 17, 2026) — Marshall today announced that Siri Nelson has stepped down as President and Chief Executive Officer following seven years of leadership marked by organizational growth, expanded access to care, and a continued commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare throughout El Dorado County. The Marshall Board of Directors has appointed Chief Medical Affairs Officer Martin Entwistle as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, while the Board begins the search for Marshall’s next permanent CEO.

During her tenure, Nelson helped guide Marshall through a period of significant transformation, including the organization’s strategic rebrand, expansion into El Dorado Hills, strengthening of its revenue cycle, improved employee development programs, and earning recognition through numerous national quality awards. Under her leadership, Marshall expanded access to care for patients across the region while reinforcing its position as the premier healthcare provider in El Dorado County.

“Siri has led Marshall with vision, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to our patients, employees, and community,” said Tom Cumpston, Chair of the Marshall Board of Directors. “On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Siri for her leadership and the lasting impact she has made on this organization and community. We are grateful for her continued support during this leadership transition and are confident Marshall is well positioned for continued success.”

Nelson will remain engaged for a transitional period to support leadership continuity and ensure a smooth transition.

“Serving Marshall has been one of the greatest privileges of my career,” said Nelson. “I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together and deeply grateful to the employees, physicians, volunteers, and community members who have made that success possible. Marshall’s greatest strength has always been its people, and I am confident that the organization will continue to fulfill its vision of creating a world where everyone can achieve their highest-desired state of health and well-being.”

Prior to his role as Interim CEO, Martin Entwistle served as Marshall’s Chief of Medical Affairs. A physician and healthcare executive with decades of leadership experience in clinical operations, healthcare innovation, and population health, he has played an integral role in advancing Marshall’s strategic initiatives and strengthening care delivery throughout the organization.

“It is an honor to serve Marshall in this role,” said Entwistle. “Our focus remains where it has always been, which is to provide exceptional care for our patients, supporting our employees and physicians, and continuing to strengthen the services our community depends on, now and in the future. I look forward to working closely with our leadership team and staff to ensure a seamless transition while building on the strong foundation that has been established.”

Over the coming weeks, The Marshall Board of Directors will begin the process of searching for the organization’s next permanent Chief Executive Officer. Throughout the transition, Marshall will remain focused on delivering exceptional patient care while maintaining continuity across its hospital, clinics, and healthcare services.
