MARSHALL MEDICAL CENTER OFFERS COMPREHENSIVE CARE FOR WOMEN

Marshall has a long standing reputation for proving excellent care to the women of El Dorado County. Marshall is home to a team of four full-time board certified doctors specializing in obstetrics and gynecology to help care for you at any stage of life, starting with adolescence, through pregnancy and menopause, and thereafter.

Jennifer Boni, MD attended the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree after earning her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Psychology from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. Most recently, she worked at Carris Health, also in Minnesota. She is also trained to perform minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries and has a special interest in treating issues with the pelvic floor. A fan of outdoor activities, she fell in love with the area as well as with the family-like environment at Marshall.

Andrea Richardson Mendelssohn, MD, earned her bachelor’s degree in international relations from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire. She then relocated to Dallas, Texas, where she completed her residency at Baylor University Medical Center. Dr. Mendelsssohn was drawn to the Sierras and wanted to embark on a new adventure. She enjoys hiking and camping, as well as winter sports.

Anne Marie Woodward, MD, earned a bachelor’s degree with a triple major in biology, biochemistry, and chemistry from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She went on to earn her medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She is also a political advocate for women’s healthcare at both the state and federal level. When she’s not at work, she enjoys hiking, biking, dancing, and art. She loves to explore, go on adventures, and attend outdoor concerts. She’s also active in her church.

Evgenia Polosina, MD was born in Russia where she attended Samara State Medical University. She completed her internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and her residency at Central Michigan University College of Medicine. She has experience with minimally invasive surgical techniques, both robotic- and video- assisted, as well as in laparotomy for the management of malignant and benign gynecological conditions. Dr. Polosina enjoys cooking, traveling and gardening with her husband Ted. They have several avocado trees at their home in Placerville.

The Marshall Birth Center, which was built in 2016, offers large birthing suites where mothers can labor and deliver in the same room with an abundance of natural light. Rooms are equipped with whirlpool tubs to ease labor pains and comfortable sleeper sofa for the partner or support person. Lactation consultants are also on staff to provide valuable breastfeeding instruction.

Marshall is an independent, nonprofit community healthcare. Marshall includes Marshall Hospital, a fully accredited acute care facility with 111 beds in Placerville; several outpatient facilities in Cameron Park, El Dorado Hills and Georgetown; and many community health and education programs. Marshall has over 220 licensed practitioners and over 1,400 employees providing quality healthcare services to the residents of El Dorado County.
