Labor Support Volunteer Program
Having a baby is one of the most exciting times in a woman’s life. But the process of giving birth can be overwhelming. In addition to the expert medical care
from Marshall Birth Center’s team of doctors and nurses, we now offer practical and emotional help through labor support volunteers
Volunteers will partner with the nursing staff to assist expecting mothers during labor and birth by providing non-clinical care including emotional, physical, and
informational guidance, suggestions for comfort measures and positioning, and provide help for her partner and family.

Previous Labor Support or Birth Doula training/certification from DONA, ICEA or CAPPA is preferred, but is not required. If you are selected for the program,
training and mentorship will be provided. Volunteers also must attend orientation, complete training requirements, meet vaccination requirements and pass a background check.
