Marshall Birth Center

A California healthcare regulation requires that visitors for hospitalized patients will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID test result from the past 72 hours.

All visitors will be screened for symptoms and must wear a procedure mask at all times, regardless of vaccination status. Visitors to non-COVID patients are limited to one or two designated visitors for that patient’s stay and should stay only a short period of time (no more than 15-30 minutes) if not in a private room. Features & Amenities

Large birthing suites - where mothers can labor and deliver in the same room-- feature an abundance of natural light. Rooms come equipped with both a whirlpool tub (to ease contraction pains) and a comfortable sleeper sofa (for spouse or support person). Aromatherapy is available to relieve nausea or headaches. Lactation consultants provide valuable breastfeeding instruction. Parents are also coached on the benefits of skin-to-skin contact with their newborn.

From these comforts, to our expert OB/GYN and pediatric physicians and experienced nurses, you can expect excellent care at Marshall.

Designated Baby Friendly®

Research shows that immediate skin-to-skin contact between mom and baby relieves pain, reduces stress and stabilizes body temperature for both mom and child. It also boosts bonding and initiates breastfeeding. While the newborn stays with the parents, our dedicated lactation consultants provide valuable breastfeeding instruction. These efforts helped Marshall’s Birth Center earn the distinction as a “Baby Friendly” hospital, designated by UNICEF and the World Health Organization.
