About Jennifer Boni, MD

Jennifer Boni, MD was born in Minnesota and quickly moved to Australia, where she lived until the age of 15, at which time she moved to Minnesota. She knew in elementary school that she wanted to become a doctor. It was during the summer after her junior year in high school when she did an internship at a hospital and was able to watch the delivery of a baby and decided to go into women’s health so she could deliver babies herself.

Dr. Boni earned her bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from Gustavus Adolphus College, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She went on to earn her medical degree from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and complete her residency at Michigan State University.

She is trained in robotic surgery and has a particular interest in treating issues with pelvic floor.

Dr. Boni was drawn to El Dorado County when she visited a friend from Minnesota who is also a physician here at Marshall Medical Center. A fan of outdoor activities, she fell in love with the area as well as with the family-like environment at Marshall. She, her husband, and two sons decided to relocate to the area, where they enjoy camping, fishing, hiking, and swimming. They also love to travel.
