Try new lifestyle trends to become a healthier you:

Use spiralized veggies such as carrot, zucchini, beets or sweet potato for your noodles. These foods provide satiety with added fiber and additional vitamins without the added carbs of pasta.

Use Butternut squash or white beans as a substitute for cream-based sauces. Squash contains the antioxidants vitamin A & C, and beans provide both insoluble and soluble fiber. Mash them with chicken or vegetable stock for a creamy sauce.

Try different ethnic spices or citrus. Get out of your comfort zone and add some spice to your life. Spices such as ginger, turmeric, coriander and cumin and citrus such as lemon and lime can replace the need for sugar and salt in most cases.

Don’t forget to keep moving. Research shows even short interval exercise can provide health benefits. Yoga, PiYo (Pilates & Yoga), HIT (High Intensity Training) or walking your favorite path are all beneficial.
