Pre-Registration Appointment
What to Expect & How to Prepare
You can expect excellent care from a trusted team of medical professionals and support staff when you arrive at Marshall.
Scheduling Your Medical Procedure
Your physician’s office will manage the scheduling process, and your doctor will also provide you with any other information you may need.
Insurance Coverage
Your doctor’s office will contact your insurance company to obtain authorization for your procedure. Insurance eligibility and benefits will also be verified. If prior authorization has not been obtained, your surgery may be postponed. Without authorization, any services performed may become your financial responsibility.

Pre-Registration Information Telephone Call or Visit
A representative from the Pre-op Registration Department may call you to verify your personal and insurance information. Additionally, a surgery nurse may call to review your medical information, give instructions on how to prepare for your procedure, and when to arrive at the facility.
On this call, you will verify:
- Your Social Security number
- Insurance information
- Patient information
Pre-Registration Appointment & Assessment
The Pre-Op Patient Registration staff will schedule an appointment with you to obtain health information and schedule any required pre-operative tests ordered by your physician. This ensures test results are returned and reviewed by the treating physicians before your surgery. Alternatively, your physician’s office may ask you to contact Marshall to schedule the appointment.
Bring the following items with you:
- A list of all medications (including doses), dietary supplements and herbal remedies you are taking
- Forms from your physician's office
- Pre-op lab request order (if any)
Please note:
- Patients are seen by appointment. Walk-ins will be worked in as our schedule permits.
- Patients younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
- Plan on spending an hour in this appointment process. This time accounts for lab work, X-rays and an EKG if ordered by your physician.
To contact Marshall for Pre-Op Registration, please call 530-626-2649.
