FAQ

  • Orthopedics & Sports Medicine

    • Marshall Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is a team of board-certified orthopedic surgeons and physician assistants serving El Dorado County. The practice focuses on treating musculoskeletal injuries, conditions, and diseases to help patients maintain an active, healthy lifestyle.

    • The team provides both surgical and non-surgical care for a wide range of musculoskeletal issues, including fractures, sports injuries, joint pain, spine conditions, and foot and ankle problems. Specific services include arthroscopic surgery (shoulder, hand, wrist, hip, knee, and ankle), total joint replacement (hip, knee, shoulder, and ankle), spine surgery, fracture care, and injection therapies.

    • Orthopedics is a self-referral clinic. You can call the office and make an appointment as long as your insurance allows for self-referral.

    • Yes. Marshall Orthopedics & Sports Medicine offers same-day walk-in care for potentially broken bones and acute injuries, allowing patients to be seen without a trip to the emergency room.

    • Minimally invasive (arthroscopic) surgery uses small incisions and a tiny camera to diagnose and treat joint problems. This approach typically results in less pain, fewer complications, and a faster return to everyday activities compared to traditional open surgery.

    • The Total Joint Replacement Program is specifically designed to prepare both patients and their caregivers for the full joint replacement journey — from pre-operative consultation through hospitalization and recovery. The goal is to set clear expectations and support patients at every stage.

    • Regenerative medicine uses natural substances — such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) — to help heal injuries and relieve pain. It's a non-surgical option aimed at supporting the body's natural healing process.
