Marshall Medical Center is pleased to offer our community advanced treatment
for wounds that are difficult to heal. Whatever the cause of the problem
wound— from diabetes complications, to pressure ulcers and burns—
Marshall's specially trained wound care experts can help you heal.
Our center also provides ostomy care and is home to one of the few hyperbaric
oxygen therapy treatment (HBOT) programs in Northern California. What
used to require an hour's or more drive is now right here in El Dorado County.

Oxygen and Healing
The oxygen in blood plays a major role in the body’s ability to heal.
When a wounded area of the body is cut off from blood or oxygen, it can
be difficult, even impossible, for the wound to heal without treatment.
If left unattended, the wound could develop an infection.
HBOT utilizes an advanced technology chamber saturated with pure oxygen.
Open wounds are exposed to high amounts of oxygen, stimulating cell growth
and recovery. The patient experiences more rapid healing from these specialized

Wound Care and HBOT services require a
physician referral to ensure the treatment options are appropriate for each patient. If you
